Honors all of America’s Fallen and Veterans, Sailors, Soldiers & Airmen of all wars.
“The Run to The Guns” (RTTG) began on December 7th, 2013, marking its upcoming 10-year anniversary. Initiated by the WW2 Memorial Committee, led by former Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett, it resulted in Arizona’s WW2 Memorial placement at Wesley Bolin Plaza (WBP) in Phoenix, AZ.
The inaugural RTTG involved Arizona citizens, including youth, families, and WW2 veterans, along with various groups and organizations. Notable features of the event included a B17 flyover, the presence of Navy Admiral Sanders and WW2 veterans, a procession of 2000 RTTG riders, a release of a dozen white doves, and a grand band. The event attracted an estimated public attendance of 25,000 individuals, with participation from all Arizona American Legion Posts, VFW, DAV, and other veteran groups.
